Bowtiful Booties

Bowtiful Booties
In case it isn’t glaringly obvious by now, I love to crochet.  I mean, I absolutely love it.  Because of this, I make a ton of crocheted gifts for the various people in my life.  Some gifts are well received and others are not.  I am lucky that there are only a few people who have treated my yarn-y offerings with disdain, because that is the worst.  I am equally lucky that I have people who adore the things I make for them.  My sister-in-law is one such person.  She knows how much work goes into homemade gifts and has a way of making the crafter feel as though they have just painted the Sistine Chapel.  When I found out she was expecting another girl, I knew I wanted to make something for the upcoming little one.  I wanted it to be simple and pretty, so I made these booties.

As always, this pattern has not been tested so if you notice any problems with it please let me know either in the comments section or at CrochetBot3000@gmail.com. You can also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Crochetbot3000.

My youngest son has been begging me to make him a “Scarf Doctor” finger puppet for awhile now.  I started working on it ages ago; I even finished the hair, head and body.  And then, Four just completely disappeared.  We searched high and low and couldn’t find him.  We assumed that he found Romana and K-9 and ran off in the TARDIS.  I started from scratch and as I was sewing on the arms, my daughter found the original.  Anyway, I finally finished the finger puppet and handed it to my little guy.  He grabbed it and exclaimed, “He is my best friend!”  I think that means that he approves.

I don’t have a pattern for this puppet.  I have two kids in homeschool this year and it is taking a little more time to adjust than I had expected.  I hope to be back to writing patterns again soon.

Happy Towel Day

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is my all time favorite book.  I discovered it quite by accident as a teenager and have read it enough that I am on at least my fifth copy.  I decided to mark Towel Day this year by making a set of Hitchhiker’s finger puppets and I put the finishing touches on them at 11:30 last night.  Happy Towel Day to my fellow nerds and I hope you are a frood who really knows where your towel is.

As always, this pattern has not been tested so if you notice any problems with it please let me know either in the comments section or at CrochetBot3000@gmail.com. You can also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Crochetbot3000.

Whale-iam

WhaleSince it is my son Eamon’s turn to receive a crocheted creature, I let him pick what he wanted me to make.  His request was simple.  He wanted a whale with a blue, curly mustache, a blue, pointy beard and a baseball bat coming out of the blow hole.  I still have to sew on the mustache and beard and make the bat, but  I thought I would post Whale-iam on the blog before I did that.  I’ll add a picture of Eamon’s finished whale when I am done with it.

As always, this pattern has not been tested so if you notice any problems with it please let me know either in the comments section or at CrochetBot3000@gmail.com. You can also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Crochetbot3000.

SONY DSC

And here is Whale-iam with the rest of the stuff Eamon wanted on him :)

Octavius the Octopus

 SONY DSC

My little guy is turning 3 on Thursday and I wanted to make him a finger puppet of his own.  He really likes Super Mario Brothers but I made his older brother a set of those about four and a half years ago (they can be seen here, if you’re interested).  I had NO idea what I was going to make for him, so I asked for suggestions on Facebook.  That was how the idea for Octavius came about.  My son has already seen Octavius and loves him, so he will be happy to get it on his birthday.

As always, this pattern has not been tested so if you notice any problems with it please let me know either in the comments section or at CrochetBot3000@gmail.com. You can also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Crochetbot3000.
