Growing up, St. Patrick’s Day was always a big deal; not because we actually celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, but because it was my dad’s birthday. We would celebrate by taking him out wherever he wanted to go and then making sure that whatever color his cake was, it absolutely, positively wasn’t green. I guess every cake he had through his early 20s was always covered in a horrible pastel green frosting. If my dad had his way, green frosting would be banned from the planet effective immediately.
The only other thing we did on St. Patrick’s Day was wear something green. If you weren’t wearing green, you would get pinched… by everybody. The longer the day went on, the harder those pinches became. When I told my kids and niece and nephew about that tradition, they thought it was hilarious. They also begged me to make them something green to wear in case anyone is in a pinching mood that day.
As always, this pattern has not been tested. If you notice any problems with it please let me know either in the comments section or at CrochetBot3000@gmail.com. You can also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Crochetbot3000.
